In the morning we depart for Coimbra, one of the oldest cities in the country. It was the Portuguese first capital, remaining so for two centuries.
You will be able to visit the lower sector of the city, walking along Ferreira Borges Street, the hub of the city’s economic activity, and its principal attractions such as the Tower of Almedina, the Old Cathedral of Coimbra, the Church of Santa Cruz and the Praça da República. We also have the opportunity to visit the Mermaid Garden and Coimbra University.
We then continue onto Porto. The journey takes between 1 hour and 1 hour 30 minutes, but it’s more than worth it, as Porto is Portugal’s second largest city and is very different to Lisbon.
This is the best way to make the most of your time and visit both of these cities in one day. You will have plenty of reasons to want to revisit the cities… but at the end of the day we have to return to Lisbon, so just sit back and relax… we will take you back to your hotel.

Private excursion to the cities of Coimbra and Porto, leaving from Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais or Estoril.
This is a slightly long tour because there is so much to see in both cities. If you only have a short time but want to see the most you possibly can, this is your best option!
The city of Coimbra has its own special mystique. Historically it is a university city as well as being one of the country’s oldest cities. It was the kingdom’s first capital and remained so for two centuries.
Porto is world renowned for its wine, bridges and both its contemporary and historic architecture. You can enjoy yourself and get lost in the city’s historic centre, wandering down the Avenida dos Aliados or visiting the Bolhão Market or the typical neighborhood of Ribeira.
Both Coimbra and the historic center of Porto are considered to be UNESCO World Heritage sides.
